Life and Death in Schelling's Philosophy of Nature

Abstract F. W. J. Schelling's philosophy of nature (Naturphilosophie) has received significant renewed interest and reappraisal. This research has – like the majority of work in the philosophy of nature and the history of science more generally – focused on Schelling's understanding of life, but eschews any discussion of death.

A noncanonical role for Jagged1 in endothelial mechanotransduction

The FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
This study reveals a noncanonical role for Jagged1 in endothelial mechanotransduction. Shear stress modulates Jagged1 expression and subcellular localization. Loss of Jagged1 attenuates mechanotransduction and reduces Src, VEGFR2, and ERK signaling. Direct mechanical stimulation of Jagged1 induces activation of these signaling pathways.

Extracellular fluid viscosity influences the mechanics and migration of MDA‐MB‐231 cells in a macromolecule‐dependent manner

Macromolecule‐dependent increases in extracellular fluid viscosity alter cell phenotype. These distinct macromolecules create different extracellular environments that modulate cell morphology and mechanoprotein expression, migration and invasion capacity, and cellular mechanical properties.

Three‐dimensional three‐interval thixotropy test (3D‐3ITT) protocol for cosmetic lotions: A proof‐of‐concept study linking thixotropy to sensory and emotional responses

From rheology to emotion: 3D‐3ITT converts usage‐like shear histories into recovery maps and thixotropy index, TI3D. In a blinded half‐face study (N = 30), the higher‐ TI3D serum (S1s) improved absorption/clean feel and increased Relax and Comfort while lowering Anxiety relative to S2s.
