Thermal Behavior of Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer Nanofluid Flow With Heat Source/Sink Effects

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer nanofluid flow in a porous medium is numerically analyzed with heat source/sink effects. Radiation enhances heat transfer and boundary layer thickness, while increasing Forchheimer resistance suppresses velocity, providing insights for optimizing thermal management in high‐temperature porous systems.

Biochar Improves Plant Vigor and Defense Response to Green Peach Aphid Myzus persicae in Hydroponic Lettuce (Lactuca sativa)

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Biochar (BC) is increasingly recognized as a sustainable agricultural amendment to improve soil health, promote plant growth, and suppress insect pests. While its application has been extensively refined in conventional soil‐based agroecosystems, its performance in hydroponics, particularly in liquid formulations remain largely unexplored. The

From Deep‐Fat Frying to G‐Frying: Exploring Absorption Dynamics of Oil Fractions in Fried Foods

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
This review provides a comparative analysis of oil absorption across conventional and emerging frying technologies, including hot‐air, microwave, G‐frying, pressure, vacuum, and infrared frying. It examines the migration of surface oil, structural oil, and penetrated surface oil during frying and cooling, highlighting technology‐specific absorption ...

Dissolved Organic Carbon Concentration, Soil Type, and Forestry Activities Influence the Continued Acidification of Sensitive Streams in Galloway, Southwest Scotland

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 9, September 2026.
The amount of peat and peaty soil cover in a catchment, weather conditions and season, and forestry activities were found to impact dissolved organic carbon (DOC), pH and other water quality indicators in a spatially variable catchment in Galloway, Southwest Scotland. High concentrations of DOC are limiting the recovery from acidification expected with

Foreign body ingestions in children and adolescents: A position paper of the European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) endoscopy special interest group

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Volume 83, Issue 3, Page 539-554, September 2026.
Abstract Foreign body (FB) ingestion is a relatively frequent occurrence in the pediatric population with multiple potential sequelae. Appropriate intervention may range from urgent endoscopic retrieval to watchful waiting, with multiple variables influencing the decision.
