A microarray was used to analyze the Whole-transcriptome (about 50,000). Using microarray analysis, we identified 150 genes that were up-regulated and 78 genes that were down-regulated in three non-obstructive azoospermia cases (Figures 2 and Figure 3).

Testicular Macrophages in Patients with Non-Obstructive Azoospermia

Male infertility (cases of non-obstructive azoospermia with the lesion of testicular parenchyma) could be strongly linked to presence of macrophages. The factors that activate these cells and cause their migration into seminiferous tubules remain to be identified.
