Universal Sample Size Invariant Measures for Uncertainty Quantification in Density Estimation
Previously, we developed a high throughput non-parametric maximum entropy method (PLOS ONE, 13(5): e0196937, 2018) that employs a log-likelihood scoring function to characterize uncertainty in trial probability density estimates through a scaled quantile

Overlapping Observations in Credit Risk Models
Parameters in logistic regression models for probability of default are typically estimated using the maximum likelihood method. The aim of this paper is to verify whether the use of overlapping observations improves precision or causes deterioration of

Methods for sampling and inference with non-probability samples
Non-probability samples are a topic of growing relevance in academic and applied research as well as national statistical institutes. This deliverable discusses the major statistical challenges that arise when using non-probability samples, as well as methodological advances for improving the reliability of results and conclusions that are obtained ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

The Effect of Hospice on End-of-Life Costs for Terminal Medicare Patients With HIV
One-quarter of annual Medicare expenses in the traditional program (non-Medicare Advantage) are expended for 5% of Medicare enrollees, with much of this expenditure occurring in the last year of life. Hospice use may reduce end-of-life costs.

Pretest estimation in combining probability and non-probability samples
Multiple heterogeneous data sources are becoming increasingly available for statistical analyses in the era of big data. As an important example in finite-population inference, we develop a unified framework of the test-and-pool approach to general parameter estimation by combining gold-standard probability and non-probability samples.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
