Ethnicity, education, and the non-proportional hazard of first marriage in Turkey
Population Studies, 2010This study uses the 1998 Turkish Demographic and Health Survey to estimate non-proportional piecewise-constant hazards for first marriage among women in Turkey by education and ethnicity, with controls for region of residence and rural-urban migration.

Analysis of Multivariate Survival Times with Non-Proportional Hazards Models
1997In a clinical trial to evaluate treatments for a chronic disease, a commonly used regression method for analyzing multiple event times is based on a multivariate Cox model (Wei, Lin and Weissfeld, 1989). However, the Cox model may not fit the data well.

A relative survival regression model using B‐spline functions to model non‐proportional hazards
Statistics in Medicine, 2003AbstractRelative survival, a method for assessing prognostic factors for disease‐specific mortality in unselected populations, is frequently used in population‐based studies. However, most relative survival models assume that the effects of covariates on disease‐specific mortality conform with the proportional hazards hypothesis, which may not hold in ...

Latent heterogeneity effects in modelling individual hazards: A non-proportional approach
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 2016Abstract This paper proposes an extension of individual hazard modelling through diffusion of innovation methodologies with the introduction of latent neighbouring effects in individual hazards. The proposal combines the Bemmaor's methodology for latent heterogeneous factors in the Cox proportional hazards model.
