Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Return to Play After Patellar Tendon Autograft for Primary Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction in Rugby Players

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, 2021
Background: There is scant literature on outcomes after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction in rugby players, and no prior study has evaluated the outcomes of bone–patellar tendon–bone (BTB) autograft ACL reconstruction.

Factors affecting first service non-return rate of crossbred bulls in Bangladesh condition

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2012
This study was conducted to identify the factors that affect first service non-return rate (NNR) at 56 days after artificial insemination (AI) in Bangladesh condition. Five crossbred bulls from AI center of Bangladesh Agricultural University were used in this study. A total of 1650 cows were inseminated by 2 inseminators.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

The Application of Synchronization Methods Using Prostaglandin F 2,by Intra Vaginal Sponges (IVS) and Intra Muscular (IM) to Improve Reproductive Performance of Thintailed Ewe Lambs

open access: yesAnimal Production: Indonesian Journal of Animal Production, 2007
The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the effect of different administration method of PGF2a, i.e. intra vaginal sponges (IVS) and intra muscular (IM) on the onset and the duration of estrus, and Non-return Rate (NR) in thin tailed ewe lambs.

Mutually exclusive capital projects: A critique of Fisherian analysis

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Business Management, 1994
In capital budgeting a Fisherian analysis is undertaken to resolve conflicts in rankings which arise when mutually exclusive projects have been evaluated according to the net present value and internal rate of return criteria.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
