Using two methods to study non-sequential double ionization

The semiclassical rescattering model and the quantum-mechanical S matrix model are used to study the non-sequential double ionization of atoms and molecules in strong laser fields.Based on these two models, we can calculate ionization rate with different laser intensities, recoil ions momentum distribution and two-electron energy distribution.

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

Nonsequential Double Ionization as a Completely Classical Photoelectric Effect [PDF]

We introduce a unified and simplified theory of atomic double ionization. Our results show that at high laser intensities ($I \ge 10^{14}$ watts/cm$^2$) purely classical correlation is strong enough to account for all of the main features observed in experiments to date.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Recollision as a probe of magnetic-field effects in nonsequential double ionization [PDF]

Fully accounting for non-dipole effects in the electron dynamics, double ionization is studied for He driven by a near-infrared laser field and for Xe driven by a mid-infrared laser field. Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.
