The main goal of this research is to test whether a collective action model better predicts non-sexist language use than the planned behavior model. Research shows that the generic use of masculine forms in language reinforces gender inequalities by shaping biased mental representations.

On March 6, 2020, Congress of Deputies and Senate´s Bureaus, in a joint meeting, approved the first Equality Plan of the Spanish Parliament. Structured in eight axes, the last one "is aimed at facilitating the use of non-sexist language in communication and in documents that are produced in both Houses".
