A Feature Selection for Detection of Non ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction [PDF]
A feature selection (FS) process of biomarkers for detecting Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) for Non ST Elevation patients (NSTEMI) is presented. FS has been applied by a retrospective analysis of biomarkers — high sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT), heart-type fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP), creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), myoglobin, GPBB ...

Lysophospholipids as Predictive Markers of ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) and Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI) [PDF]
The present study explored patterns of circulating metabolites and proteins that can predict future risk for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). We conducted a prospective nested case-control study in northern Sweden in individuals who developed STEMI (N = 50) and NSTEMI (N = 50) within 5 ...

Normal pregnancy corresponds to a procoagulant state. Acute myocardial infarction during pregnancy is rare, yet considering the low non-pregnant risk score of childbearing women it is still surprisingly frequent.

Perforin‐Mediated Cytotoxicity in non‐ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction
AbstractThe aim of this investigation was to examine the role of perforin (P)‐mediated cytotoxicity in the dynamics of tissue damage in patients with non‐ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) treated with anti‐ischaemic drugs. We enrolled 48 patients with NSTEMI in this study [age, 71.5 years; 61.5/76 (median, 25th/75th percentiles)]. The

Non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction after a wasp sting
We report a case of a 56-year-old woman with loss of conscious transferred to the cardiology unit where non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction was diagnosed. The patient reported a wasp sting a few minutes before the accident. The cardiac troponin level was high and confirmed damage of the heart muscle.

Background Air pollution is associated with greater cardiovascular event risk, but the types of events and specific persons at risk remain unknown. This analysis evaluates effects of short‐term exposure to fine particulate matter air pollution with risk ...

Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction secondary to carbon monoxide intoxication
Carbon monoxide poisoning has been documented in literature to cause severe neurological and tissue toxicity within the body. However, cardiotoxicity is often overlooked, but not uncommon.

Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction? Intervene! [PDF]
The GRACE score, derived from the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events, is an easily applicable and validated tool for triage decision making in patients after non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) [1, 2]. In short, if patients with NSTEMI are admitted with a low GRACE score, a less aggressive diagnostic approach can be followed than in ...

A Case of Acute Myocardial Injury – MINOCA or Myocarditis?
Myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) has been defined as clinical presentation of an acute coronary syndrome with laboratory evidence of myocardial necrosis, but with coronary stenosis of less than 50% on coronary ...
