Quantifying the Impact of Cathode Composite Mixing Quality on Active Mass Utilization and Reproducibility of Solid‐State Battery Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The origin of variations in solid‐state battery cell performance is explored and traced back mainly to the cathode composite mixing – leading to different fractions of electrochemically active mass. Machine‐mixed composites and the quantification of the electrochemically active mass enhance reproducibility and comparability.

Estimating flood recurrence uncertainty for non-stationary regimes

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Recursos Hídricos, 2023
Assuming non-stationarity in flood frequency models is still controversial due to uncertainty in estimates. In this study, a hierarchical Bayesian framework for flood frequency analysis is presented without assuming the stationarity hypothesis.

Product differentiation in the fruit industry: Lessons from trademarked apples

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract We derive price premiums for patented or trademarked apple varieties, also known as “club apples,” compared to open‐variety apples. We use an expansive retail scanner dataset, along with unique data on apple taste characteristics, to estimate monthly club apple premiums for 2008–2018.

An investigation of the price discovery role of futures markets: A dynamic time warping analysis of the United States corn markets

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract Futures markets are critical to price discovery and often dominate spot markets. We analyze the linkages between daily corn futures and spot prices in the United States using dynamic time warping. This nonparametric pattern recognition technique has several advantages over traditional time series methods.

Volatility analysis and forecasting of vegetable prices using an ARMA‐GARCH model: An application of the CF filter and seasonal adjustment method to Korean green onions

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract The vegetable market experiences significant price fluctuations due to the complex interplay of trend, cyclical, seasonal, and irregular factors. This study takes Korean green onions as an example and employs the Christiano–Fitzgerald filter and the CensusX‐13 seasonal adjustment methods to decompose its price into four components: trend ...

The relevance of non-stationarities and non-Gaussianities in vibration fatigue

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In classical fatigue of materials, the frequency contents of dynamic loading are well below the natural frequencies of the observed structure or test specimen.

The Relationship Between Interest Rates and Agricultural Commodity Price Dynamics

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The U.S. Federal Reserve has undertaken several interest rate interventions in the past decade. This study explores the relationship between U.S. corn and soybean prices and Federal Reserve monetary policy interventions, in the short and long run.

Modeling and Predicting Time Series with Non-stationarity and Volatility [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji kexue yu tansuo
The difficulty of time series prediction lies in how to handle non-stationarity and volatility. When dealing with non-stationarity, existing deep learning models adopt a method of stabilizing the input sequences before training, which has problems of ...

Price Transmission During Promotions: A Case Study of Spanish Milk Brands

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Price promotion is the marketing tool typically used by retail brands to boost sales and gain market share. In this paper, we intend to investigate the price transmission mechanism among competitive brands in Spain when price reductions that are associated with price promotions take place.
