Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

An Optimised Method for Fetching and Transforming Survey Data based on SQL and R Programming Language

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2019
The development of information systems in recent years has contributed to various methods of gathering information to evaluate IS performance. The most common approach used to collect information is called the survey system. This method, however, suffers

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

A new survey adjustment method for laser tracker relocation

open access: yes, 2015
The relocation function is frequently used in the application of Laser Tracker. However, in large component assembly, since the laser tracker would be blocked by the large-size component, the number and distribution of fiducial points can hardly meet the

An Iterative Ab Initio Non-Hermitian Floquet Method for Photoionization Resonances

open access: yes, 2020
We present an efficient ab initio non-Hermitian Floquet method for computing the photoionization resonances of an electronic system interacting with linearly polarizedmonochromatic laser light.

Non Linear Proper Generalized Decomposition method applied to the magnetic simulation of a SMC microstructure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Improvement of the magnetic performances of Soft Magnetic Composites (SMC) materials requires to link the microstructures to the macroscopic magnetic behavior law.
