Evaluation of seismic responses of an arch dam under non-uniform ground motion using random vibration [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering, 2020
To investigate the seismic responses of dams due to ground non uniform displacements, the records of earthquake displacements are required. Such data is seldom recorded during a specific earthquake and in the most cases the recorded data in not ...

Extended Coherence Function on The Topography for Generated Non-Uniform Record By Using Stochastic Method [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering, 2021
This study focuses on modeling spatial variation of earthquake ground motion using numerical methods. wave passage effect, incoherence effect and local site conditions effect are the effective parameters on this phenomenon which its investigated in ...

The Effects of Underground Structure on the Free Field Displacement Under Uniform and Non-Uniform Excitation [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های زیرساخت‌های عمرانی, 2019
In this study, the effects of a subway station on the surface ground motion subjected to uniform and the non-uniform propagating seismic wave is investigated. Numerical analysis is carried out by finite difference method using FLAC soft-ware.

Investigating the Effect of Pseudo-Static Components on Bridge Structures under Multiple Support Excitations Using Conditional Simulated Records [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation in Civil Engineering, 2020
Long-span bridges, as vital structures, play an important role in economic development. Previous studies revealed that the seismic responses of such structures, under non-uniform excitations, are different from the same result due to uniform excitations.

Vibration and Reliability Analysis of Non-Uniform Composite Beam under Random Load

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Non-uniform structures and composite materials have advantages in engineering applications, such as light weight design, multi-functionality, and better buckling/flutter load capacity.

Seismic response of cable stayed bridges under multi support excitation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering, 2017
In this Study, the seismic response of cable stayed bridges have been evaluated under multi-support excitations. There are three sources that cause the earthquake wave characteristics change during its propagation path.

Non-uniform along thickness spin excitations in magnetic vortex-state nanodots [PDF]

open access: yesLow Temperature Physics, 2020
We summarize our experimental findings in the arrays of Ni80Fe20 circular nanodots with diameter 300 nm and thickness 20 nm ≤ L ≤ 100 nm, probed by broadband ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy in the absence of external magnetic field. Spin excitation modes related to the vortex core gyrotropic dynamics were observed in the gigahertz frequency range.

Seismic response of concrete arch dams due to different non-uniform ground motion models [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods in Civil Engineering, 2019
This paper investigates the effects of spatially variable (non-uniform) seismic excitation incorporating incoherency effect on earthquake-induced stresses of arch dams.

Side lobe reduction of a concentric circular antenna array using genetic algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2010
A concentric circular antenna array (CCAA) consists of elements positioned on the periphery of imaginary circles on a plane having a common centre and different radii.

Novel Design Techniques for the Fermat Spiral in Antenna Arrays, for Maximum SLL Reduction

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
This paper presents novel design techniques for the Fermat spiral, considering a maximum side lobe level (SLL) reduction. The array system based on a Fermat spiral configuration considers techniques based on uniform and non-uniform amplitude excitation ...
