Multilayered non‐uniform atomic force microscope piezoelectric microcantilever control and vibration analysis considering different excitation based on the modified couple stress theory

Microscopy research and technique (Print), 2020
Atomic force microscope (AFM) is one of the most powerful tools for surface scanning, force measurement, and nano‐manipulation. To improve its performance, vibration and control of AFM micro‐cantilever (MC) should be studied.

The matrix theory of non uniform waveguide structures excitation

MMET '96. VIth International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory. Proceedings, 2002
The present paper suggests a new matrix-electrodynamics method, which is based on the selection among the direct and backward waves of a more narrow class of waves, marked in correspondence with the location of excitation sources relative to the region being considered. A non-uniform waveguide structure (WS) means any fast or slow change of the form or

Parametric excitation of tire-wheel assemblies by a stiffness non-uniformity

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1995
Abstract A simple model of the effect of a concentrated radial stiffness non-uniformity in a passenger car tire is presented. The model treats the tread band of the tire as a rigid ring supported on a viscoelastic foundation. The distributed radial stiffness is lumped into equivalent horizontal (fore-and-aft) and vertical stiffnesses.

Self-excited gas–solid two-phase flow using non-uniform soft fins

Powder Technology, 2020
Abstract The purpose of this study is to reduce the conveying velocity and power consumption in gas–solid two-phase flows. Four pieces of soft fins with different (non-uniform) lengths, which are fixed on the horizontal central plane of the inlet, are employed to self-excite the gas–solid flow.

Non-uniform amplitude excitation of elements in an antenna array

2007 6th International Conference on Antenna Theory and Techniques, 2007
Special law of exciting currents' amplitudes distribution is proposed in the paper. It is shown that tapered antenna array with elements excited in accordance to the proposed law can form the directional pattern that is close to one formed by antenna array with equally spaced elements within a limited angular sector.

Generation of symmetric Lamb waves by non-uniform excitations

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2008
Abstract The plane strain response of a semi-infinite, elastic strip to harmonic, symmetric, and non-uniform end excitation is investigated analytically. The solution is obtained as a series expansion of the Rayleigh–Lamb modes of the strip. The variation of the energy partition among the propagating modes with the frequency of the end excitation was

Electrical Field Excitation in Non-Uniform Plasma by a Modulated Electron Beam

Physica Scripta, 2000
Excitation of electric fields due to a modulated electron beam in a warm non-uniform plasma is treated for weak beams in warm plasma. It is shown that the maximum electric field magnitude that is reached near the local plasma resonance point depends significantly on the direction of the electron stream motion. In collisional plasma the magnitude of the

Dynamic analysis of train–bridge system subjected to non-uniform seismic excitations

Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 2006
Based on the theory of dynamic wheel–rail interactions, a dynamic model of coupled train–bridge system subjected to earthquakes is established, in which the non-uniform characteristics of the seismic wave input from different foundations are considered. The bridge model is based on the modal comprehension analysis technique.

Dynamic stability of CNTs-reinforced non-uniform composite beams under axial excitation loading

Computational Materials Science, 2022
Abstract This paper presents an analytical study on the dynamic stability of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) reinforced functionally graded composite beams when subjected to axial excitation loading. The composite beams are functionally graded using a I-type CNTs reinforcement. The section properties of the non-uniform functionally graded composite beams are

Research on the excitation force and vortex dynamics characteristics of pump-jet propulsor induced by shafting whirling vibration: Non-uniform blade tip clearance

The Physics of Fluids
The propulsion shafting whirling vibration causes non-uniform dynamic changes in the rotor tip clearance, which directly have a significant influence on the excitation force and vortex dynamic characteristics of the pump-jet propulsor.
