Amplitude-mode dynamics of polariton condensates

open access: yes, 2011
We study the stability of collective amplitude excitations in non-equilibrium polariton condensates. These excitations correspond to renormalized upper polaritons and to the collective amplitude modes of atomic gases and superconductors.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Optical non-Hermitian skin effect in uniform media

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Non-Hermitian skin effect (NHSE), which is a localization phenomenon in non-Hermitian systems, has recently been of great interest. Most previous works in various systems studied periodic systems.

Non-Uniformly Powered and Spaced Corporate Feeding Power Divider for High-Gain Beam with Low SLL in Millimeter-Wave Antenna Array

open access: yesSensors, 2020
A corporate feeding antenna array with parasitic patches has been investigated previously for millimeter-wave applications due to its high gain and wide bandwidth. However, the parasitic patch integration in the uniformly powered and spaced patch antenna

Quantum Effects and Broken Symmetries in Frustrated Antiferromagnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We investigate the interplay between frustration and zero-point quantum fluctuations in the ground state of the triangular and $J_1{-}J_2$ Heisenberg antiferromagnets, using finite-size spin-wave theory, exact diagonalization, and quantum Monte Carlo ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Numerical Study of the Asynchronous Excitation Effect of Boumerdes’ Earthquake on a Bridge Behavior

open access: yesITEGAM-JETIA
This work shows the numerical analysis of asynchronous excitation effects on a bridge response due to the Boumerdes earthquake, employing the finite element approach in modeling and the Newmark method for dynamic response analysis.

Analysis of non uniform surface current distribution on thick and thin wire antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
When wires are closely parallel, the surface current distribution becomes non uniform. Normal mode helical antenna is choosing in particular in order to study the effect of surface current distribution along its segmentation from the excitation ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Dynamic spin-Hall effect and driven spin helix for linear spin-orbit interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We derive boundary conditions for the electrically induced spin accumulation in a finite, disordered 2D semiconductor channel. While for DC electric fields these boundary conditions select spatially constant spin profiles equivalent to a vanishing spin ...
