Robot motion planning in a dynamic environment using offset Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS)

2011 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2011
A new method of collision free motion path planning using Non uniform rational B- Spline curves for mobile robots is addressed in this paper. Obstacles of polygonal nature are used and the navigation occurs in a dynamic environment. Mathematical Modeling with vector addition technique is used to compute the set of points which will form the final path.

Smooth non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) machining with kinematic limit for short linear segments

International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing, 2011
Set of methods based on non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) are proposed in this article, which are adopted to improve the smoothness during short linear numerical control (NC) codes machining. The smoothness refers to two aspects: the contour fairness of CL trajectory and the machining stability of the machine tool.

3D visualization of cardiac tagged magnetic resonance image data using Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS)

Proceedings of the Seventh Indian Conference on Computer Vision, Graphics and Image Processing, 2010
The paper demonstrates accurate, anatomically correct 3D visualization of left and right ventricles of the human heart from tagged magnetic resonance imaging data. Tagged MRI reveals 3D structural and motion information that is incorporated into the visualized models. We use Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) for our purpose, that allow non-uniform

Non-uniform-rational-B-splines (NURBS) in illumination design

Frontiers in Optics, 2003
After a brief explanation of NURBS concepts [1], this work considers the use of NURBS surfaces in illumination system design. An important design case is creating a uniform illuminance distribution on a target plane. This work demonstrates an optimization design approach that results in an efficient faceted reflector system.

Collision-Free Path Generation for Autonomous Manipulators Using Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) via Artificial Transformation

4th Conference on Flexible Assembly Systems, 1992
Abstract This paper presents an algorithm for collision free path planning of autonomous manipulators among obstacles. The algorithm uses powerful features of Non-Uniform Rational B-splines (NURBS) to determine the path of the manipulator in the complimentary space of the obstacles.
