Template mapping method for plane quadrilateral mesh generation with controllable density transitions

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2024.
In this work, we have combined the template method with the mapping method to innovate a four‐step mesh generation method for planar geometric models. This method enables the rapid generation of high‐quality, density‐controllable quadrilateral meshes.

Meshless finite element method: using non-uniform rational B-splines

open access: yes, 2001
To alleviate the major difficulties in the prevailing mashes methods, a research program was initiated to propose a robust alternative for solving a broad class of boundary-value problems.

Subdivision, and refinement of non-uniform rational B-spline curves and surfaces in 3-D

open access: yes, 1998
Discussed in this paper are several mathematical spline formulations and a history of splines, Bezier\u27s cubic spline, and cubic B- splines. This includes uniform rational B-splines and non-uniform rational B-splines, their construction, pros and cons ...

Time-Aware Non-Uniform Rational Basis Spline (T-NURBS)

open access: yes
Explicitly adopting time as a parameter, the defi-nition of non-uniform rational basis spline profile known short as NURBS is revisited and updated. This results in another NURBS definition that is aware of time, and not only the geometry.

NURBS distance fields for extremely curved cracks

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents the first methodology that combines a meshless method and the exact representation of cracks using Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS).

An optimization method for radial NURBS surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We study the use of non-uniform rational B-splines (NURBS) for describing axially symmetric surfaces in the design of imaging optical systems. We suggest a representation using a base sphere with an additional NURBS curve.

TURBS - Topologically Unrestricted Rational B-Splines

open access: yes, 1995
We present a new approach to the construction of piecewise polynomial or rational C k -spline surfaces of arbitrary topological structure. The basic idea is to use exclusively parametric smoothness conditions, and to solve the well known problems at ...

Fitting Constrained Continuous Spline Curves. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Fitting a curve through a set of planar data which represents a positive quantity requires that the curve stays above the horizontal axis, The more general problem of designing parametric and non-parametric curves which do not cross the given constraint

A locking-free quadratic nurbs-based isogeometric formulation for plates analysis

open access: yesHo Chi Minh City Open University Journal of Science - Engineering and Technology, 2012
A new Reissner-Mindlin plate formulation based on a quadratic NURBS-based isogeometric is presented. In order to avoid the transverse shear locking and to improve the accuracy of the present formulation, the quadratic NURBS-based isogeometric is ...

Approximation of the soil particle-size distribution curve using a NURBS curve

open access: yesSoil and Water Research
Soil particle-size distribution or soil texture presents one of the most important physical properties. There are various systems of the classification systems for soil particle-size fractions with different boundaries. Our effort was concentrated on the
