Non-union of fractures of the mandible
Journal of Maxillofacial Surgery, 1985Non-union of the mandible was evaluated over a twenty one year period (1960-1980). Seven cases were found in a total of 853 examples--an incidence of 0.8 percent. In this paper we examine these cases and review the literature concerning its incidence. Thereafter we present the different types of treatment and the results these produce in the management

Non-Union in Forearm Fractures
Acta chirurgiae orthopaedicae et traumatologiae Cechoslovaca, 2014Non-union in forearm fractures is an uncommon but complex problem. This is especially given the unique anatomical structure and function of the forearm, making treatment distinctly different to that of other long bone fractures. Anatomical restoration of length, alignment, rotation and the radial bow maintains the optimal stabilising effects of the ...

The vascularity of atrophic non-unions
Injury, 2002The objective of this study was to assess the vascularity of atrophic non-unions using an experimental animal model. Twenty skeletally mature female rabbits were randomly divided into control and experimental groups that were killed 1, 8, or 16 weeks after surgery.

Non-union of acetabular fractures
Injury, 2004Non-unions of acetabulum are rare. Seven cases of acetabular non-unions are reported in this retrospective study. Five out of our seven patients had either transverse or associated transverse with posterior wall fractures. All patients had surgical stabilisation of their index fractures.

The presentation of scaphoid non-union
Injury, 2003A retrospective study of 30 patients presenting with scaphoid non-union was performed. The results showed that eight had been treated in plaster for a mean of 6 weeks and discharged from follow-up. They presented with established non-union at a mean of 60.3 months after the original fracture. Three of these cases have resulted in litigation against the

Foot and Ankle Clinics
Talar malunions can cause significant morbidity in the form of hindfoot deformity, pain, and gait abnormalities. Malunion and nonunion may coexist, making treatment more challenging. Reconstruction is feasible in cases where the talar dome cartilage is intact, avascular necrosis is minimal or partial, and no infection.

Validation of the Non-Union Scoring System in 300 long bone non-unions
Injury, 2014Non-union of long bones is a significant consequence of fracture treatment. The ideal classification for non-union of long bones would give sufficient significant information to the orthopaedic surgeon to enable good management of the treatment required and to facilitate the creation of comparable study groups for research purposes.

INTERSECTING AND NON-UNION ANTICHAINS
The Quarterly Journal of Mathematics, 1994This paper investigates the connections among LYM-type and Bollobás type inequalities concerning the Sperner, the intersecting Sperner, the non-union Sperner, the complement-free Sperner and finally the non-union, intersecting Sperner polytops. (For a systematic introduction to the theory of the convex hull of set systems and the complete description ...
