An ensemble hybrid and explainable AI (XAI) framework for zero false-positive islanding detection in distribution networks

open access: yesScientific Reports
This paper proposes a novel hybrid ensemble machine learning framework integrated with Explainable AI (XAI) to overcome the fundamental trade-off between non-detection zones (NDZ) and false positives in conventional islanding detection methods.

A Prospective Study of Individuals at Risk of Multiple Sclerosis Informs the Design of Primary Prevention Studies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Islanding Detection of Synchronous Machine-Based DGs using Average Frequency Based Index

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2013
Identification of intentional and unintentional islanding situations of dispersed generators (DGs) is one of the most important protection concerns in power systems. Considering safety and reliability problems of distribution networks, an exact diagnosis

Clinical Outcomes of SEEG‐Guided Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation in Children With Focal Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy: A Multicenter Real‐World Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stereoelectroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG‐RFTC) has emerged as a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for children with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy. Although evidence from real‐world studies remains limited, numerous pediatric cases have demonstrated promising outcomes. This retrospective

Relationship Between Neurologic Symptoms and Signs and FMR1 Genotype in Premutation Carriers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Fragile X‐associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) is the most severe late‐onset condition caused by a premutation in the FMR1 gene, characterized by expanded CGG triplet repeats of 55–200. Clinical presentations of FXTAS, including gait ataxia, kinetic tremor, cognitive decline, and rare Parkinsonism, are linked to ...

High‐Resolution MRI Revealed Different Etiology‐Specific Associations With Cerebral Infarction in Adult Moyamoya Vasculopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐resolution MRI enables detailed assessment of intracranial vessel wall pathology in moyamoya vasculopathy. We aimed to classify adult moyamoya vasculopathy etiologies using high‐resolution MRI and to examine subtype‐specific associations between high‐resolution MRI features and ischemic infarction.
