A TOA-based location algorithm reducing the errors due to non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation

IEEE 54th Vehicular Technology Conference. VTC Fall 2001. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37211), 2002
An effective location algorithm, which considers non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation, is presented. By using a new variable to replace the square term and adding the loose variable, the problem becomes a mathematical programming problem, and then the NLOS propagation's effect can be evaluated.

Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) Ultraviolet And Indoor Free-Space Optical (FSO) Communications

2014
This chapter presents a new concept for exploiting non-line-of-sight (NLOS) free-space optical (FSO) communication. NLOS configuration can be achieved using scattering as a vehicle for a viable link, or using multipath propagation as in an indoor optical communication link.

Non-Line of Sight-Combined Arms (NLOS-CA) Manpower, Personnel and Logistics Impact Analysis (LIA)

1993
Abstract : The purpose of these analyses was to identify manpower, personnel and logistics impact caused by fielding the Non-Line of Sight - Combined Arms (NLOS- CA) weapon system (WS). These analyses were conducted as integral parts of the NLOS-CA Cost and Operational Effectiveness Analyses (COEA) study.

The Effects of Non-line of Sight (NLOS) Channel on a User with Varying Device Orientations

2019
Recently, there has been a growing interest in visible light communications (VLC) for indoor communication to meet the ever-increasing data demands. Most of the studies have considered the line-of-sight (LOS) channel for VLC communication. However, the LOS gain is constrained as the user moves away from the transmitter (Tx) or his device experiences ...

Novel Approach of Spoofing Attack in VANET Location Verification for Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS)

2017
Location verification of a vehicle in VANET under non-line-of-sight (NLOS) condition requires the questioned vehicle to be cooperatively located by questioner via another vehicle that has direct link with the vehicle in a state of NLOS condition. One of the challenges is to prove that the vehicle is physically located in a claimed position, and MHLVP ...
