Thermoreflectance Detection of Point Defects Resulting from Focused Ion Beam Milling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Focused ion beam (FIB) milling is a common tool for nanoscale material processing, however irradiation damage, redeposition, and contamination can occur. We use several characterization tools to show FIB‐induced effects beyond 1 mm from the milled area.

An evaluation of the accounting rate of return : evidence for Dutch quoted firms [PDF]

open access: yes
Although the accounting rate of return (ARR) is traditionally regarded as an important profitability measure in ratio analysis, there has been relatively little theoretical and empirical analysis on its statistical properties and its intrinsic ability to

Synthesis of a Novel Thermoresponsive S53P4 Bioactive Glass Extract–Poloxamer 407 Injectable Hydrogels: Assessment of Biocompatibility and Antimicrobial Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates innovative thermoreversible hydrogels derived from S53P4 bioactive glass extracts to aid in the healing of infected diabetic foot wounds. These injectable gels, which gel at body temperature, release beneficial ions and remain stable over time.

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

SHARIAH RISK FACTOR AND STOCK RETURN IN THE INDONESIAN STOCK MARKET DURING COVID-19 AND THE RUSSIA-UKRAINE CONFLICT

open access: yesJournal of Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance
Using a sample of 544 Indonesian stocks, we examine the performance of the Shariah and non-Shariah stocks from 2018-2023. Employing panel regressions to investigate the impact of the Shariah investment principles on the average stock returns, we observe ...

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...

Financial Development and International Capital Flows [PDF]

open access: yes
We develop a general equilibrium model with nancial frictions in which internal capital (equity capital) and external capital (bank loans) have different rates of return.
