RESONANT DYNAMIC B-TIPPING CLOSE TO A NONSMOOTH SADDLE-FOCUS BIFURCATION LINKED TO CLIMATE CHANGE

The ANZIAM Journal
We study the behaviour of (resonant) dynamic B-tipping in a forced two-dimensional nonautonomous system, close to a nonsmooth saddle-focus (NSF) bifurcation. The NSF arises when a saddle-point and a focus meet at a border collision bifurcation.

Piecewise Smooth Dynamical Systems Theory: The Case of the Missing Boundary Equilibrium Bifurcations

Journal of nonlinear science, 2016
We present two codimension-one bifurcations that occur when an equilibrium collides with a discontinuity in a piecewise smooth dynamical system. These simple cases appear to have escaped recent classifications.

The entropy formula of shrinking target problem in nonautonomous dynamical systems

Dynamical systems
This paper is devoted to studying the topological entropy of shrinking target problem in nonautonomous dynamical systems (NDSs). After providing the shrinking target problem of the topological version in NDSs, we obtain a general formula for computing ...

Intermediate Topological Entropies for Subsets of Nonautonomous Dynamical Systems

Journal of dynamical and control systems
Motivated by the notion of intermediate dimensions introduced by Falconer et al., we introduce a continuum of topological entropies that are intermediate between the (Bowen) topological entropy and the lower and upper capacity topological entropies. This

On the Use of Continuous Sigmoid Functions to Smooth Out the Coulomb Friction Force Law for Dynamical Systems

Volume 6: 19th International Conference on Micro- and Nanosystems (MNS); 21st International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control (MSNDC); 37th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Sound (VIB); 38th Fluid Power and Motion Control Symposium (FPMC)
Coulomb friction force law is an empirical formulation which was derived by analyzing the relative motion between two bodies initially in a stationary state.
