This thesis investigates links between the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator, and the higher Cheeger constants of smooth Riemannian manifolds, possibly with boundary.

Angular Values of Nonautonomous and Random Linear Dynamical Systems: Part I - Fundamentals [PDF]
We introduce the notion of angular values for deterministic linear difference equations and random linear cocycles. We measure the principal angles between subspaces of fixed dimension as they evolve under nonautonomous or random linear dynamics.

Impulses in driving semigroups of nonautonomous dynamical systems: Application to cascade systems
In this paper we investigate the long time behavior of a nonautonomous dynamical system (cocycle) when its driving semigroup is subjected to impulses. We provide conditions to ensure the existence of global attractors for the associated impulsive skew ...

Angular Values of Nonautonomous Linear Dynamical Systems: Part II - Reduction Theory and Algorithm [PDF]
This work focuses on angular values of nonautonomous dynamical systems which have been introduced for general random and (non)autonomous dynamical systems in a previous publication [W.-J. Beyn, G. Froyland, and T. H\"uls, SIAM J. Appl. Dyn.

Topological entropy of nonautonomous dynamical systems [PDF]
Let $\mathcal{M}(X)$ be the space of Borel probability measures on a compact metric space $X$ endowed with the weak$^\ast$-topology. In this paper, we prove that if the topological entropy of a nonautonomous dynamical system $(X,\{f_n\}_{n=1}^{+\infty})$

Rejection of nonharmonic disturbances in nonlinear systems [PDF]
summary:This paper proposes an asymptotic rejection algorithm on the rejection of nonharmonic periodic disturbances for general nonlinear systems. The disturbances, which are produced by nonlinear exosystems, are nonharmonic and periodic. A new nonlinear

Non-local dispersal and bistability
The scalar initial value problem [ u_t = ho Du + f(u), ] is a model for dispersal. Here $u$ represents the density at point $x$ of a compact spatial region $Omega in mathbb{R}^n$ and time $t$, and $u(cdot)$ is a function of $t$ with values in some ...

The Legacy of Policy Inaction in Climate‐Growth Models
ABSTRACT To better understand the structure and core mechanisms of a broad class of climate‐growth models, we study a simplified version of the dynamic integrated model of climate and the economy (DICE) through the lens of growth theory. We analytically show that this model features a continuum of saddle‐point stable steady states.

Abstract The application of automated ground vehicles (AGVs) is well‐established in closed environments such as port terminals, while their operation in open areas remains challenging. In this work, we set out to overcome this limitation by introducing platooning as a transfer mode in heterogeneous vehicle networks.

Бифуркации двумерного тора в кусочно-гладких динамических системах
Considering a set of coupled nonautonomous differential equations with discontinuous right-hand sides, we discuss two different scenarios for torus birth bifurcations in piecewise-smooth dynamical systems. One scenario is the continuous transformation of
