Calculation of Bevel Noncircular Gears' Contact Ratio and Data Range

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
The contact ratio of noncircular gears is variational, much more complicated than the contact ratio of the spur gear. Because the contact ratio of straight noncircular gear is always less than 2, its property of steady transmission is less than the bevel noncircular gear.

Design of the Pitch Cones of Noncircular Bevel Gears

Volume 3: Design, Materials and Manufacturing, Parts A, B, and C, 2012
A design method for the pitch cones of noncircular bevel gears is proposed. In particular, the accurate formulation of the pitch cones of the driving gear and the driven gear are obtained for any number and combination of lobes and in any configuration during their pure-rolling motion.

Design of noncircular bevel gear with concave pitch curve

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2012
Noncircular bevel gear can achieve variable transmission between intersecting axes. This article proposes the design method of high-order noncircular bevel gear with concave pitch curve. The parametric equations for driving and driven gear, addendum and dedendum surface under given transmission ratio and axis angle are established in a spherical polar ...

Coordinate measuring of the variable ratio noncircular bevel gear

Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronic & Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, 2011
A coordinate measuring method was presented for the variable ratio noncircular bevel gear used in sliding-limiting differential in this paper. The path of the coordinate measuring was planned according to the feathers of the variable ratio noncircular bevel gear.

Synthesis of N-Lobed Involute Modified Noncircular Bevel Gears

Volume 11: Systems, Design, and Complexity, 2014
Noncircular bevel gears (NBG) can achieve variable transmission between intersecting axes. The transmission ratio function is obtained when giving the involute NBG’ pitch curve equations during their pure rolling. The relationship of least number of teeth avoiding undercutting and the pitch curve curvature of NBG is analyzed.

Generation of Noncircular Bevel Gears With Free-Form Tooth Profile and Curvilinear Tooth Lengthwise

Journal of Mechanical Design, 2016
Noncircular bevel gear is applied to intersecting axes, realizing given function of transmission ratio. Currently, researches are focused mainly on gear with involute tooth profile and straight tooth lengthwise, while that with free-form tooth profile and curvilinear tooth lengthwise are seldom touched upon.

Tooth Surface Generation and Geometric Properties of Straight Noncircular Bevel Gears

Journal of Mechanical Design, 2012
A general mathematical model is established to describe the geometries and geometric characteristics of tooth surfaces of straight noncircular bevel gears. One of the direction angles of the normal vector of the tooth surfaces is taken as a function of the angular position of its origin, called the direction angle function (DAF).
