Reliability-Based Nondestructive Inspection Planning
1997Nondestructive inspection tools (NDT) are commonly used to inspect structures or structural components with resistance deterioration due to defect size growth. The growth of defect size includes, for example, the fatigue crack growth under cyclic loading, and the corrosion defect size growth of pipeline systems.

7.9 Nondestructive Inspection of Composites
2018This chapter examines the role of radiography in guaranteeing a minimum quality in composite materials and structures. The chapter covers traditional film based radiography and the new solid-state radiography. Because traditional radiographic techniques are not applicable to composites, sections cover modifications necessary to enhance the contrast ...

Overview of Nondestructive Inspection Techniques
1974Numerous nondestructive inspection techniques are available today for the detection of flaws in a variety of materials including ceramics. The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of current NDT principles and techniques including criteria for the proper selection of effective test methods.

Anchor rod inspection using nondestructive evaluation
ESMO '98 - 1998 IEEE 8th International Conference on Transmission and Distribution Construction, Operation and Live-Line Maintenance Proceedings ESMO '98 Proceedings. ESMO 98 The Power is in Your Hands, 2002Many overhead transmission line structures are supported by guy wires anchored to the earth with rods. Under certain conditions, these anchor rods will corrode along their length and no visual inspection or other inspection methods are available to detect the presence of corrosion wastage without excavation.
