Philosophy for nondestructive testing of fiber composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A discussion of a nondestructive testing philosophy for fiber composites is presented. The position is taken that the nondestructive test indications must be quantitatively correlated to the required engineering performance properties of the composite ...

Polarization‐Enabled Piezoelectric Tellurium–Selenium (TexSe1–x) Thin Films for Memory Switching and Artificial Synaptic Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate and investigate polarization‐enabled electromechanical responses in cryogenic physical vapor deposition (cryogenic PVD)‐deposited TexSe1‐x thin films, a tellurium‐based compound with a tunable bandgap and enhanced non‐centrosymmetry.

Pull Off test to evaluate the compressive strength of concrete: an alternative to Brazilian standard techniques

open access: yesRevista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais
To estimate the compressive strength of concrete is necessary in many reinforced concrete structures inspection works. In Brazil, the standard tests for this purpose are: Compressive test in drilled cores, rebound hammer test and ultrasonic test.

Nondestructive analysis of the deep-drawing behavior of rolling sheets with ultrasonic techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
S.296-302Textures in rolled sheets are developed during production by deformation processes and heat treatments. Thus magnetic, elastic and plastic properties of the product become directionally dependent.

Laser‐Induced Periodic Phase‐Transition of 2D‐MoTe2 Nanograting Template for Frequency‐Shift Digital‐SERS Immunoassay of Autoimmune Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A protocol of fs‐laser‐induced periodic phase‐transition of 2D‐MoTe2 template, inducing AuNPs@1T’‐MoTe2 nanograting, is developed. The labeled AuNPs@1T’‐MoTe2 substrate conjugated with specialized immunoglobulin G demonstrates an unexpectedly high discrimination accuracy close to unity for serological diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis by frequency ...

Impedance of Nonelectroneutral Solid Electrolyte Interphases With Nanopores: A Theoretical Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Physical modeling reveals that often‐neglected non‐electroneutrality and nanopores in the solid‐electrolyte interphase (SEI) govern the impedance behavior. Under nonreactive conditions, the low‐frequency constant‐phase element (CPE) phenomenon can be attributed to the nonelectroneutral local conditions in the SEI.

A Folded, Structure‐Integrated Bimodal Sensor Enabling Non‐Contact and Tactile Perception for Intelligent Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A foldable bimodal sensor integrates a triboelectric nanogenerator and graphene piezoresistive effect into a monolithic laser‐induced graphene film. It enables synchronous non‐contact and tactile perception, achieving a distance of 110 mm, a sensitivity of 11.2 kPa−1, and a response time of 10 ms.
