Nonexistence of Positive Solutions for Quasilinear Equations with Decaying Potentials

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In this paper, we consider a quasilinear Schrödinger equation, which arises from the study of the superfluid film equation in plasma physics. Our main goal is to find the growth condition for nonlinear term and decaying condition for the potential ...

NONEXISTENCE FOR P-LAPLACE EQUATIONS WITH SINGULAR WEIGHTS

open access: yes, 2010
Aim of this paper is to give some nonexistence results of nontrivial solutions for a quasilinear elliptic equations with singular weights in R^n / {0}. The main tool for deriving nonexistence theorems for the equations is a Pohoaev-type identity.

Fungal Antimicrobial Resistance: Mechanisms, Drivers, and Global Clinical Burden

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fungal antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing concern for world health caused by an increase in multidrug‐resistant infections, an increase in environmental reservoirs, and the ineffectiveness of current antifungal treatments. Fungal infections continue to be largely excluded from AMR initiatives while causing over 1.6 million deaths ...

On the critical behavior for a Sobolev-type inequality with Hardy potential

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
We investigate the existence and nonexistence of weak solutions to the Sobolev-type inequality $ -\partial _t(\Delta u)-\Delta u+ \frac{\sigma }{|x|^2}u \ge |x|^{\mu }|u|^p$ in $(0,\infty )\times B$, under the inhomogeneous Dirichlet-type boundary ...

Ternary codes, biplanes, and the nonexistence of some quasisymmetric and quasi‐3 designs

open access: yes, 2020
The dual codes of the ternary linear codes of the residual designs of biplanes on 56 points are used to prove the nonexistence of quasisymmetric 2- (Formula presented.) and 2- (Formula presented.) designs with intersection numbers 0 and 3, and the ...

The nonexistence of regularization operators

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2003
With references to applications in physics the author discusses the well known problem of regularization of generalized functions. As is known, there exist various procedures to regularize some concrete classes of generalized functions. For generalized functions on the real line the author shows that there cannot exist a unique procedure which provides

Nonexistence of Graphs with Cyclic Defect [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2011
In this note we consider graphs of maximum degree $\Delta$, diameter $D$ and order ${\rm M}(\Delta,D) - 2$, where ${\rm M}(\Delta,D)$ is the Moore bound, that is, graphs of defect 2. Delorme and Pineda-Villavicencio conjectured that such graphs do not exist for $D\geq 3$ if they have the so called 'cyclic defect'.

Defining Reconciliation Studies: Theoretical and Practical Dimensions

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reconciliation studies (RS) has become increasingly influential in understanding alternative views to ending conflict and dealing with the aftermath. As a discipline or field, however, it is not well defined. The actual usefulness of reconciliation (as a concept), or of RS (as a discipline), is debated, and due to its growing usage, it is ...

Synergies and Trade‐Offs in Circular Economy and Community Development Nexus: Pathways to Local Sustainability

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recent scholarship shows growing interest in the circular economy (CE) approach, which promotes resource‐efficient, community‐friendly activities. However, scientific evidence is still needed on the synergies and trade‐offs between CE and community development (CD).

Digital Product Passports in Fashion: A Strategic Framework for Implementation

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the role of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) in promoting transparency, traceability, and sustainability within the fashion industry. As the fashion sector faces significant environmental and social challenges, including resource depletion, pollution, and unethical labor practices, the DPP offers a potential solution ...
