Fixed Point Problems for Nonexpansive Mappings in Bounded Sets of Banach Spaces

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2020
It is well known that nonexpansive mappings do not always have fixed points for bounded sets in Banach space. The purpose of this paper is to establish fixed point theorems of nonexpansive mappings for bounded sets in Banach spaces.

Mean ergodic theorems for a sequence of nonexpansive mappings in complete CAT(0) spaces and its applications

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2023
In this article, we prove ergodic convergence for a sequence of nonexpansive mappings in Hadamard (complete CAT(0){\rm{CAT}}\left(0)) spaces. Our result extends the nonlinear ergodic theorem by Baillon for nonexpansive mappings from Hilbert spaces to ...

Fixed Point Results for Coupled Large Kannan Contraction Using W‐Distance and Its Application to Integral Equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
In the present paper, we employ the notion of w‐distance to prove a large Kannan‐type contraction inequality in metric spaces. The notion of a coupled large Kannan contraction is introduced, and by using the Geraghty‐type control function, we derive fixed point results in metric spaces with and without partial order.

A New Iteration Method for Nonexpansive Mappings and Monotone Mappings in Hilbert Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2010
We introduce a new composite iterative scheme by the viscosity approximation method for nonexpansive mappings and monotone mappings in a Hilbert space. It is proved that the sequence generated by the iterative scheme converges strongly to a common point ...

A New Iterative Scheme of Modified Mann Iteration in Banach Space

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
We introduce the modified iterations of Mann's type for nonexpansive mappings and asymptotically nonexpansive mappings to have the strong convergence in a uniformly convex Banach space.

Convergence Behavior of the F∗ Algorithm: Strong and Weak Results for Nonexpansive Mappings

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study examines the strong and weak convergence of the F∗ iterative approach to the fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping in the context of a Banach space. This work shows improved rate and efficiency of convergence. Furthermore, we proved that F∗ iterative algorithm converges to a fixed point faster than Picard, Mann, S, and Varat iterative ...

Convergence of a Three-step Iteration Scheme to the Common Fixed Points of Mixed-Type Total Asymtotically Nonexpansive Mappings in Uniformly Convex Banach Spaces

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Mathematical Analysis, 2021
We propose a three-step iteration scheme of hybrid mixed-type for three total asymptotically nonexpansive self mappings and three total asymptotically nonexpansive nonself mappings.

An Inertial Three‐Term Conjugate Gradient Projection Method With Applications

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This paper introduces a robust inertial three‐term projection method for solving monotone nonlinear equations. The proposed approach extends existing nonlinear conjugate gradient (CG) methods for unconstrained optimization with inexact line search by incorporating an inertial mechanism and a redesigned three‐term search direction to enhance numerical ...

Approximate Fixed Points for Nonexpansive and Quasi-Nonexpansive Mappings in Hyperspaces [PDF]

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2009
AbstractThis paper provides a few convergence results of the Ishikawa iteration sequence with errors for nonexpansive and quasi-nonexpansive mappings in hyperspaces. The results presented in this paper improve and generalize some results in the literature.

Nonexpansive maps with surjective displacement [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fixed Point Theory and Applications, 2021
We investigate necessary and sufficient conditions for a nonexpansive map $f$ on a Banach space $X$ to have surjective displacement, that is, for $f - \mathrm{id}$ to map onto $X$. In particular, we give a computable necessary and sufficient condition when $X$ is a finite dimensional space with a polyhedral norm.
