Depletion of the RNA‐Editing Enzyme ADAR1 Invigorates the Antitumor Immunity of NK Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 29, 22 May 2026.
ADAR1 is upregulated in NK cells from melanoma patients, impairing their function. Its loss enhances NK cell tumor infiltration and cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, ADAR1 deficiency destabilizes CD38 mRNA to reduce its expression, thereby increasing NK cell mobility and killing, which nominates it as a therapeutic target for NK cell ...

Strain, procedures, and tools for reproducible genetic transformation and genome editing of the emerging plant model Spirodela polyrhiza

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 2, Page 735-756, April 2026.
Summary Duckweeds (Lemnaceae) have excellent potential for fundamental and applied research due to ease of cultivation, small size, and continuous fast clonal growth. However, their usage as model organisms and platforms for biotechnological applications is often limited by the lack of universal genetic manipulation methods necessary for transgene ...

A Label‐Free Hyperspectral Imaging Device for Ex Vivo Characterization and Grading of Meningioma Tissues

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 19, Issue 3, March 2026.
HyperProbe1.1 enables rapid, label‐free biochemical mapping of freshly resected meningiomas. By quantifying endogenous biomarkers such as cytochrome c oxidase, hemoglobin derivatives, and lipids, the system reveals molecular signatures consistent with tumor grading and generates spatial maps that visualize metabolic and vascular heterogeneity across ...

Trouble in the Tank: A Case Report of Fatal Scuticociliate Encephalitis in a Whitetip Reef Shark (Triaenodon obesus)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract This case report presents a recent case of scuticociliatosis in a whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus), housed at a zoo (Haus des Meeres Aqua Terra Zoo, Vienna, Austria). Clinical signs such as uncoordinated swimming and body tilt were observed prior to death.

Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 3, 4 February 2026.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

The Molecular Cochaperone NbSGT1 May Function as an Endogenous Suppressor of RNA Silencing That Is Recruited by a Potyvirus in Infection of Plants

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 2, February 2026.
The molecular co‐chaperone NbSGT1 interacts with potyviral HC‐Pro and promotes viral infection in plants. Notably, (1) NbSGT1 enhances the RSS activity of HC‐Pro and (2) NbSGT1 acts as an endogenous suppressor of RNA silencing (ESR), suppressing RNA silencing in plants.

Betulinic Acid Eradicates Implant‐Associated Infections by Disrupting the S. aureus Biofilm Matrix and Potentiating Host Immune Clearance

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 1, January 2026.
Betulinic acid reduces infection by Staphylococcus aureus biofilms on implants by inhibiting their formation and adhesion, decreasing EPS and eDNA formation and enhancing immune clearance. Simultaneously, it reduces skin tissue inflammation, enhances type I collagen production, and promotes wound healing.

Overlapping Hyperpigmented and Poikilodermatous Mycosis Fungoides

open access: yesCase Reports in Dermatological Medicine, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Primary cutaneous T‐cell lymphomas (pCTCLs) are a heterogeneous group of rare clonal T‐cell disorders, among which mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common subtype. Several clinicopathologic variants of MF have been described, including poikilodermatous and hyperpigmented forms, with occasional overlap between variants.
