Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYETHOXYLATED ALKYL PHENOLS WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF ETHOXYLATION AT THE SOLID-LIQUID INTERFACE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Fully characterizing the behavior of a surfactant, from the mechanism of adsorption to the formation of micelles, is vital when taking the surfactant out of the lab and into the real world.

Assembly of nonionic-anionic co-surfactants to template mesoporous silica vesicles with hierarchical structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Mesoporous silica vesicles (MSV) with a hierarchical structure were developed using triblock copolymer Pluronic P103 and anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as a co-surfactant in the present of an inorganic salt, sodium fluoride (NaF).

Water Number of Nonionic Surfactants. II.

open access: yesJournal of Japan Oil Chemists' Society, 1961
The water number (W. N.) of polyoxyethylene derivatives of fatty alcohols and of polyoxypropylene cetyl ethers (general formula CPaEb:where C is cetyl alcohol, P propylene oxide, E ethylene oxide, and a and b are numbers of moles added, respectively) was measured and studied with relation to the properties of these derivatives.

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

Hydrocarbon Extraction into Surfactant Phase with Nonionic Surfactants II Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The solubilization kinetics of an extraction process of oil with an aqueous micellar solution of a nonionic surfactant has been modeled. the model is directly related to the phase diagram, allowing a simple form which explains the main effects.

Biomimetic Vascular Scaffold with Seamless Electrospun Aligned Nanofiber Conduit and 3D‐Printed Coil Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Molecular dynamics simulation study on the effect of SDS and AEO3 complex on the wettability of lignite

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
In order to explore the micro-mechanism of the influence of anionic surfactant and nonionic surfactant on the wettability of low-rank coal, the molecular dynamics simulation method (MD) was used to study the influence of anionic surfactant (SDS ...

Gardiquimod Nanoemulsion Targets Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Lesions Reducing Systemic Toxicity and Parasite Burden

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.
