Nonionic Fluorosilicone Surfactants
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1993Abstract New fluorosilicone surfactants have been prepared. The focus has been on branched disiloxane and trisiloxane hydrophobes having 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl and 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,6-nonafluorohexyl radicals with poly(oxyethylene) hydrophiles. Their performance as aqueous surfactants was evaluated and compared to conventional methylsiloxane surfactants

Adsorption and micellar properties of a mixed system of nonionic–nonionic surfactants
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2005We study the surface adsorption and bulk micellization of a mixed system of two nonionic surfactants, namely, ethylene glycol mono-n-dodecyl ether (C12E1) and tetraethylene glycol mono-n-tetradecyl ether (C14E4), at different mixing ratios at 15 degrees C.

Wettability Alteration of Calcite by Nonionic Surfactants
Langmuir, 2018The process of selecting an effective surfactant for wettability alteration is dependent on a number of factors, including mineral type, temperature, salinity, and nature of adsorbed oil and ultimately how the molecular structure of the surfactant interacts with all of these.

Biodegradation of nonionic surfactants
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1984AbstractThis paper discusses the biodegradability of alcohol‐based nonionics measured by the recommended legislative test procedures and how the results obtained are affected by the chemical structure of the surfactant, and thus provides guidance on the selection of materials.

A quantitative structure property relationship; QSPR was preformed as a means to predict critical micelle concentration of nonionic surfactants via correlating properties to parameters calculated from molecular structure. Such parameters; molecular weight, M w , hydrophobic‐hydrophilic fragments molecular weight ratio, χ, polarizability, α, partition ...

A Nonionic Surfactant and Blood Viscosity
Archives of Surgery, 1973Poloxamer 188, (Pluronic F68), a nonionic surface active agent, was investigated for its effect on blood viscosity. Ten dogs were given poloxamer 188 prior to, during, and after one hour of total cardiopulmonary bypass. Viscosity measurements were compared in control and treated animals perfused for 6 and 12 hours.

Nonionic surfactants in cylindrical hydrophilic pores
Progress in Colloid & Polymer Science, 1997A mean field lattice (MFL) theory has been used to study the adsorption behaviour of nonionic surfactants in hydrophilic cylindrical pores. The theory predicts that with decreasing pore radius the absorbed amount decreases. Moreover, the step in the adsorption isotherm, which is a first-order phase transition in the mean field approximation, shifts to ...
