Effects of nanoparticle composite surfactants on the adsorption/desorption and diffusion of CH4 in coal

open access: yesMeitan xuebao, 2023
A solid (coal) - gas (CH4) - liquid (surfactant) three-phase interaction system model is established based on the Grand Canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) and Molecular Dynamics (MD) methods.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Influence of Added Surfactants on the Rheology and Surface Activity of Polymer Solutions

open access: yesChemEngineering
Steady-shear rheology and surface activity of surfactant–polymer solutions were investigated experimentally. Four different polymers were studied as follows: cationic hydroxyethyl cellulose, nonionic hydroxyethyl cellulose, nonionic guar gum, and anionic

A Normalized HLD (HLDN) Tool for Optimal Salt-Concentration Prediction of Microemulsions

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Optimal condition-based microemulsion is key to achieving great efficiency in oil removal. One useful empirical equation to predict an optimal condition is a hydrophilic–lipophilic deviation (HLD).

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Investigating oil solubilization into nonionic micelles by Raman multivariate curve resolution

open access: yesAggregate, 2023
Hydrophobic hydration, whereby water spontaneously structures around hydrophobic and amphiphilic molecules, plays a key role in the process of surfactant micelle formation and micellar oil solubilization.

Characterization of Clinical Phenotype to Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein Concentrations in Alexander Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine the concentration of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma in Alexander disease (AxD) and whether GFAP levels are predictive of disease phenotypes. Methods CSF and plasma were collected (longitudinally when available) from AxD participants and non‐AxD controls.

Monocyte LOXHD1 and RHOB Expression Predictive of Progressive Systemic Sclerosis–Associated Interstitial Lung Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective A leading cause of death among patients with scleroderma (SSc), interstitial lung disease (ILD) remains challenging to prognosticate. The discovery of biomarkers that accurately determine which patients would benefit from close monitoring and aggressive therapy would be an essential clinical tool.
