Enhanced carbon utilization and storage: An application of nonionic-based binary surfactant CO2 foam

open access: yesHeliyon
Mobility control of CO2 is important for effective subsurface utilization and sequestration of anthropogenic CO2 in depleted formations. This not only enhances oil recovery but also increases CO2 storage efficiency, addressing a key challenge for a ...

Surface and antibacterial activity of synthesized nonionic surfactant assembled on

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2016
Herein, we synthesized a nonionic surfactant namely, tetradecanoate mercapto acetate polyethylene glycol. We investigate the assembling of the synthesized surfactant on different types of prepared nanoparticles using ultraviolet (UV) and transmission ...

Analytical modeling of micelle growth. 2. Molecular thermodynamics of mixed aggregates and scission energy in wormlike micelles

open access: yes, 2019
Hypotheses: Quantitative molecular-thermodynamic theory of the growth of giant wormlike micelles in mixed nonionic surfactant solutions can be developed on the basis of a generalized model, which includes the classical phase separation and mass action ...

Influence of surfactants on the electrohydrodynamic stretching of water drops in oil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we present experimental and numerical studies of the electrohydrodynamic stretching of a sub-millimetre-sized salt water drop, immersed in oil with added non-ionic surfactant, and subjected to a suddenly applied electric field of magnitude ...

Biomimetic Iridescent Skin: Robust Prototissues Spontaneously Assembled from Photonic Protocells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Uniform nanoparticles are induced to form arrays (photonic crystals) in the cores of biopolymer capsules, endowing these ‘protocells’ with structural color. These protocells are then assembled into large self‐standing objects, i.e., prototissues, with robust mechanical properties as well as iridescent optical properties.

Preparation and surface active properties of oxypropylated diol monoesters of fatty acids with an amide oxime terminal group

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 1994
Locally produced non-edible oil, namely, rice bran oil (R.B.O.) was utilized as starting materials for preparing new nonionic surfactant. Oxypropylated diol monoesters of linoleic and rice bran oil fatty acids were prepared.
