AbstractIt is shown that, under weak assumptions, nonlinear L2-approximation problems generally have unbounded numbers of local best approximations. This includes the rational and the exponential families of approximating functions. In addition, for a certain class of approximating families, we construct functions with three global best approximations.

Manipulating Ferroelectric Topological Polar Structures with Twisted Light

We demonstrate dynamic control of ferroelectric order in quasi‐2D CsBiNb2O7 using twisted ultraviolet light carrying orbital angular momentum. Our approach harnesses non‐resonant multiphoton absorption and induced strain to modulate topological of ferroelectric polarization textures.

Enhanced Polariton Interactions in Suspended WS2 Monolayer Microcavity
