Nonlinear Conductivity of Fullerenol Aqueous Solutions

ACS Nano, 2011
Fullerenols have been a subject of intense research in many fields with the claim of possible applications in biomedicine such as free-radical sponges, antioxidants, and photosensitizers. However, its transport characteristics, important in determining the feasibility of many applications, have not been studied yet.

Improvement of Nonlinear Conductivity and Flashover Characteristics of SiC/LDPE Composite via the DC Electric Field Assist

IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation
Nonlinear conductivity characteristic of the nonlinear resistive field grading material is affected by the filler distribution. The dc electric field assist is capable of regulating the filler distribution, but it is rarely used in the development of the

Engineered Nonlinearities in Transparent Conducting Oxides

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2017
Towards the fabrication of all-dielectric nanophotonic devices with tunable capabilities, we combined interband and intraband nonlinearities in aluminum-doped zinc oxide thin films thus enlarging the material bandwidth and gaining ultra-fast control over the transmitted spectrum.

Nonlinear conductivity of aqueous electrolytes: Beyond the first Wien effect.

Journal of Chemical Physics
The conductivity of strong electrolytes increases under high electric fields, a nonlinear response known as the first Wien effect. Here, using molecular dynamics simulations, we show that this increase is almost suppressed in moderately concentrated ...

Nonlinear Conductance in Resonant Tunneling

Physical Review Letters, 1996
A multiterminal conductance formula describing resonant tunneling through an interacting mesoscopic system is derived and used to investigate the nonlinear conductance of a quantum dot. An explicit gauge-invariant expression for the I-V characteristic which depends sensitively on the full capacitance matrix is obtained. A voltage probe is found to have

Intrinsic nonlinear conductance of mesoscopic conductors

Physical Review Letters, 1991
The conductance of a mesoscopic conductor is shown to be a sensitive function of the dc voltage on the system. In the low-temperature limit, changing the potential drop across the system by an amount on the order of the level spacing of the system is sufficient to change the conductance by e 2 /h.

Nonlinear Thermal Convection in Conducting Fluids

The Physics of Fluids, 1972
The stability of an electrically conducting Boussinesq fluid subjected to a temperature gradient and a magnetic field is analyzed by the energy method. The mathematically rigorous results establish the existence of a region of certain stability near the origin of the parameter space (Ra, Re, Rm) where Ra, Re, and Rm are the Rayleigh, Reynolds, and ...

Nonlinear conductivity and charge transport characteristics of silicone rubber/SiC composites under impulse superimposed on DC voltage

IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation, 2019
Nonlinear conductivity composites can be applied to modify the local electric field distribution and accelerate the surface and space charge dissipation in HVDC cables.
