Nonlinear optical susceptibilities of conducting polymers

Nonlinear bone conducted hearing
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of AmericaAir conduction (AC) is the typical mode of hearing used by humans. AC process follows a defined path starting at the ear canal, middle ear to the cochlea, and finally to the sensory organs of hearing. The highest frequency we can hear using AC is approximately 20 kHz.

Temperature-dependent nonlinear conductivity and carrier mobility of silicone rubber/SiC composites
IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation, 2018An electrical field distorted by the complicated cable accessory structure and non-uniform temperature distribution is a significant threat to high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable.

Nonlinear High-Frequency Plasma Conductivity
The Physics of Fluids, 1969Some numerical results for the high-frequency nonlinear conductivity of a fully ionized plasma are presented. Special attention has been given to the case when the frequency ω of the applied electromagnetic field is close to the electron plasma frequency ωp.

Nonlinear THz conductivity in graphene
CLEO: 2014, 2014We report the nonlinear THz conductivity of graphene. The heating of charge carriers by strong THz pulses results in a reduction of the high-frequency conductivity of graphene, in spite of reduced scattering for high-energy carriers.

Nonlinear conductivity for mesoscopic systems
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2002A generalized Kubo formula for a mesoscopic system is derived describing the conductivity, subject to an (not weak) external electric field, and shown to be expressible in the Landauer-Buttiker form. Using this approach the electrical conductivity of a quantum dot point-contact was expressed as k(2e(2)/h), where k represents the strength of the mutual ...

Nonlinear terahertz conductivity in graphene
2013 38th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz), 2013Graphene is a unique conductor, where charge is transported by massless carriers. Remarkably, the THz response of carriers strongly depends on the driving field.

Nonlinear observers for conductivity tracking
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2010Abstract Conductivity based sensors can be applied to monitor a wide range of processes in the mineral processing industry. This work compares the use of an Extended Kalman Filter and a Nonlinear Observer for tracking conductivity variations under dynamical conditions.
