Oscillatory control parameters in nonlinear chaotic systems

Physica Scripta, 2013
For a better understanding of the role of control parameters in nonlinear dynamical systems, we examined numerically the effect of the oscillatory control parameter D?=?C0?cos(?1t) on the Lorenz model for a dynamo, where C0 and ?1 are the driving amplitude and frequency, respectively.

Active Parameter Control of Nonlinear Vibrating Structures

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1989
A simple, yet efficient method is presented for the on-line vibration control of nonlinear, multidegree-of-freedom systems responding to arbitrary dynamic environments. The procedure uses nonlinear auxiliary mass dampers with adjustable motion-limiting stops located at selected positions throughout a given nonlinear system.

On control of nonlinear distributed parameter bioreactors

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation, 1994
Abstract A distributed parameter fixed-bed bioreactor model with axial diffusion is presented. An orthogonal collocation method is applied to obtain a lumped parameter model, i.e. a system of ordinary differential equations, which consists of one subset for the biomass concentration and the other for the substrate concentration.

Adaptive Control Of Nonlinear Distributed Parameter Systems

International Journal of Modelling and Simulation, 1999
A finite dimensional model is derived for a class of nonlinear distributed parameter systems using the orthogonal collocation method This model is linearizable via state feedback. To cope with both parametric and dynamic uncertainties of the finite dimensional model, an adaptive control algorithm is proposed The adaptation laws are derived based on ...

Parameter Convergence for Adaptive Control in Nonlinear System

2020 Australian and New Zealand Control Conference (ANZCC), 2020
Feedback linearization uses an effective linearizing control to make the input-output dynamics of a nonlinear plant linear such that various linear control strategies can be applied for tracking the output trajectories to the desired one. One of the key open issues in adaptive control of feedback linearizable structures is the estimation of the ...

The Control of Nonlinear Econometric Systems with Unknown Parameters

Econometrica, 1976
An approximate solution, based on the method of dynamic programming, is provided for the optimal control of a system of nonlinear structural equations in econometrics with unknown parameters using a quadratic loss function. It generalizes the methods previously proposed by the author for the control of a nonlinear econometric model with constant ...

Adaptive output-feedback nonlinear control with parameter convergence

Proceedings of 1995 American Control Conference - ACC'95, 2005
Analyses the parameter convergence properties of an adaptive control scheme for output-feedback nonlinear systems. The authors show that parameter convergence is guaranteed if an appropriately defined matrix, which is directly related to the regressor matrix but does not depend on closed-loop signals, is persistently exciting.

Adaptive control of nonlinear systems with unknown parameters

1996 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. Information Intelligence and Systems (Cat. No.96CH35929), 2002
An approach to the solution of the adaptive control for nonlinear systems with unknown (certain or uncertain) parameters is presented by using the theory of nonlinear H/sub /spl infin// disturbance attenuation control. It is shown that the adaptive control law is related to the existence of the solution of a new form of Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs ...
