Kinetic-Ion Simulations Addressing Whether Ion Trapping Inflates Stimulated Brillouin Backscattering Reflectivities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An investigation of the possible inflation of stimulated Brillouin backscattering (SBS) due to ion kinetic effects is presented using electromagnetic particle simulations and integrations of three-wave coupled-mode equations with linear and nonlinear ...

Asymptotic evolution of nonlinear Landau damping

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2000
The long-time evolution of nonlinear Landau damping in collisionless plasmas is analyzed by solving the Vlasov-Poisson system numerically. The value of the parameter marking the transition between Landau's and O'Neil's regimes is determined and compared with analytical results.

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Linear parameter estimation for multi-degree-of-freedom nonlinear systems using nonlinear output frequency-response functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The Volterra series approach has been widely used for the analysis of nonlinear systems. Based on the Volterra series, a novel concept named Nonlinear Output Frequency Response Functions (NOFRFs) was proposed by the authors.

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Fourier-Hermite spectral representation for the Vlasov-Poisson system in the weakly collisional limit

open access: yes, 2014
We study Landau damping in the 1+1D Vlasov-Poisson system using a Fourier-Hermite spectral representation. We describe the propagation of free energy in phase space using forwards and backwards propagating Hermite modes recently developed for ...

Simulation of undular bores evolution with damping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Propagation of undular bores with damping is considered in the framework of perturbed extended Korteweg-de Vries (peKdV) equation. Two types of damping terms for the peKdV equation, namely linear and Chezy frictional terms, which describe the turbulent ...

Global well-posedness analysis for the nonlinear extensible beam equations in a class of modified Woinowsky-Krieger models

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2022
For studying the evolution of the transverse deflection of an extensible beam derived from the connection mechanics, we investigate the initial boundary value problem of nonlinear extensible beam equation with linear strong damping term, nonlinear weak ...

Direct Evidence of Topological Dirac Fermions in a Low Carrier Density Correlated 5d Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The 5d oxide BiRe2O6 is discovered as a low‐carrier‐density topological semimetal hosting symmetry‐protected Dirac fermions stabilized by nonsymmorphic symmetries. Angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy, quantum oscillations, and magnetotransport measurements reveal gapless Dirac cones, quasi‐2D Fermi surfaces, high carrier mobility, and a field ...

Nonlinear magnetization dynamics of antiferromagnetic spin resonance induced by intense terahertz magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We report on the nonlinear magnetization dynamics of a HoFeO3 crystal induced by a strong terahertz magnetic field resonantly enhanced with a split ring resonator and measured with magneto-optical Kerr effect microscopy.
