Nonlinear distortion evaluation of reconfigurable RF circuits in wireless communication systems

open access: yes, 2013
A compact highly linear microstrip dual - mode optically switchable filter and a reconfigurable power amplifier are presented. The key characteristics of the dual - mode switchable filter are investigated and described.

Evaluating harmonic and intermodulation distortion of mixed signals processed with dynamic range compression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Dynamic range compression of simple signals results in harmonic nonlinear distortion. However, for summed signals, predominantly inharmonic intermodulation distortion (IMD) is generated.

Near‐Unity Chiral Lasing Enabled by Quasi‐Bound States in the Continuum

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoimprinted chiral array that supports bound states in the continuum is doped with an efficient non‐chiral molecule (Rhodamine‐B) acting as gain medium to produce fully circularly polarized lasing emission. The chiral lasing wavelength can be tuned across the emission band of Rhodamine‐B by adjusting the coating thickness of the TiO2 high refractive ...

Nonlinear resolvents: distortion and order of starlikeness

open access: yesMathematica Slovaca
Abstract This paper presents a new approach to studying nonlinear resolvents of holomorphically accretive mappings on the open unit ball of a complex Banach space. We establish a distortion theorem and apply it to address problems in geometric function theory concerning the class of resolvents.

Nonlocal Metaspire: A Scalable Elastic Material Platform With Decoupled Mechanical Modes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nonlocal Metaspire introduces sequential rotation to realize wider scalability in implementing complex nonlocal couplings in elastic metamaterials while suppressing unintended mode coupling. Numerical results clarify the underlying wave motions, demonstrate mode‐decoupled roton and maxon formation, and support a straightforward extension to higher ...

Biodegradable Chitosan Films as Green Resists for Gold Nanowires Fabrication Through AFM‐Based Nanolithography

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of a sustainable nanofabrication process: chitosan derived from natural sources is used as a biodegradable thin film resist, patterned via Constant Pulse‐Assisted Force Lithography (CP‐AFL) to create tunable nanogrooves. These grooves template gold nanowire formation, enabling high‐resolution nanopatterning under ambient ...

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...

The Measurement of Nonlinear Distortion Using Broadband Noise

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2008
The method of measurement of nonlinear distortions in loudspeakers using digital filters has been presented. Using MATLAB software packet developed by MathWorks it is possible to design necessary filters.

Post-detection nonlinear distortion for efficient MLSD in optical links

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we investigate the use of nonlinear distortion of the electrical post-detection signal in order to design simple, yet very effective, maximum likelihood sequence detection (MLSD) receivers for optical communications with direct photo ...

A 3D‐Printed Blister Test Platform for Quantifying Biointerface Adhesion Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed blister platform enables energy‐resolved characterization of soft hydrogel–rigid interfaces. Integrating precision pressure control with hyperelastic modeling directly quantifies adhesion energy (G) and R‐curve toughening. Results reveal that modulating hydrogel concentration and surface roughness drives a tunable transition from cohesive ...
