Singular boundary value problems for quasi-differential equations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1995
Solutions are obtained of boundary value problems for Lny+f(x,L0y,…,Ln−2y), satisfying L2y(0)=Ln−1y(1)=0, 0≤i≤n−2, where Li, denotes the ith quasiderivative, and where f(x,y1,…,yn−1) has singularities at yi=0, 1≤i≤n−1.

Passive elasto-magnetic suspensions: nonlinear models and experimental outcomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The paper presents a passive elasto-magnetic suspension based on rare-earth permanent magnets: the dynamical system is described with theoretical and numerical nonlinear models, whose results are validated through experimental compar- ison.

Dynamical Jumps in a Shape Memory Alloy Oscillator

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2014
The dynamical response of systems with shape memory alloy (SMA) elements presents a rich behavior due to their intrinsic nonlinear characteristic. SMA’s nonlinear response is associated with both adaptive dissipation related to hysteretic behavior and ...

Different dimensional fractional-order discrete chaotic systems based on the Caputo h-difference discrete operator: dynamics, control, and synchronization

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
The paper investigates control and synchronization of fractional-order maps described by the Caputo h-difference operator. At first, two new fractional maps are introduced, i.e., the Two-Dimensional Fractional-order Lorenz Discrete System (2D-FoLDS) and ...

DETERMINISTIC LEARNING OF NONLINEAR DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2009
In this paper, we investigate the problem of identifying or modeling nonlinear dynamical systems undergoing periodic and period-like (recurrent) motions. For accurate identification of nonlinear dynamical systems, the persistent excitation condition is normally required to be satisfied.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Derivative-Free Nonlinear Kalman Filtering for MIMO Dynamical Systems: Application to Multi-DOF Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2011
The paper proposes derivative-free nonlinear Kalman Filtering for MIMO nonlinear dynamical systems. The considered nonlinear filtering scheme which is based on differential flatness theory extends the class of systems to which Kalman Filtering can be ...

Nonlinear Dynamics of the Climate System

open access: yes, 2004
The problem of climate change requires to attribute observed climate variations to natural sources of variability and anthropogenic forcing factors. Climate variability from the decadal over centennial to the millennial time scales and the transitions from glacials to interglacials are determined by strong nonlinear interactions between the changes in ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.
