Spin-current emission governed by nonlinear spin dynamics

open access: yes, 2015
Coupling between conduction electrons and localized magnetization is responsible for a variety of phenomena in spintronic devices. This coupling enables to generate spin currents from dynamical magnetization.

Evolutionary adaptations of biofilms infecting cystic fibrosis lungs promote mechanical toughness by adjusting polysaccharide production

open access: yesnpj Biofilms and Microbiomes, 2017
Evolution: Toughening up biofilms in lungs Bacteria in lungs of people with cystic fibrosis can evolve through decades to build a tough biofilm that resists the body’s defences. Vernita Gordon and colleagues at the University of Texas, with co-workers in

Spatiotemporal Permutation Entropy as a Measure for Complexity of Cardiac Arrhythmia

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2018
Permutation entropy (PE) is a robust quantity for measuring the complexity of time series. In the cardiac community it is predominantly used in the context of electrocardiogram (ECG) signal analysis for diagnoses and predictions with a major application ...

A General Framework for Nonlinear Quantum Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
We outline an approach that streamlines considerably the construction and analysis of well-behaved nonlinear quantum dynamics, with completely positive extensions to entangled systems. A few notes are added on the issue of quantum measurements under a nonlinear dynamics.

Nonlinear quantum input-output analysis using Volterra series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Quantum input-output theory plays a very important role for analyzing the dynamics of quantum systems, especially large-scale quantum networks. As an extension of the input-output formalism of Gardiner and Collet, we develop a new approach based on the ...

Nonconservative higher-order hydrodynamic modulation instability

open access: yes, 2017
The modulation instability (MI) is a universal mechanism that is responsible for the disintegration of weakly nonlinear narrow-banded wave fields and the emergence of localized extreme events in dispersive media.

Current induced magnetization switching in Co/Cu/Ni-Fe nanopillar with orange peel coupling

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
The impact of orange peel coupling on spin current induced magnetization switching in a Co/Cu/Ni-Fe nanopillar device is investigated by solving the switching dynamics of magnetization of the free layer governed by the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert-Slonczewski

Static and Dynamic Behavior of Novel Y‐Shaped Sandwich Beams Subjected to Compressive Loadings: Integration of Supervised Learning and Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the mechanical response of Y‐shaped core sandwich beams under compressive loading is investigated, using deep feed‐forward neural networks (DFNNs) for predictive modeling. The DFNN model accurately captures stress–strain behavior, influenced by design parameters and loading rates.
