Nonlinear dynamics of Raman lasers
Physical Review A, 1990It has recently been shown that single mode Raman lasers are reducible to a simple mathematical description [1] similar to that of the detuned Haken-Lorenz model but for which operating conditions are considerably relaxed. As such they provide excellent opportunity for quantitative tests of nonlinear dynamics.

This book introduces stochastic dynamical systems theory in order to synthesize our current knowledge of climate variability. Nonlinear processes, such as advection, radiation and turbulent mixing, play a central role in climate variability. These processes can give rise to transition phenomena, associated with tipping or bifurcation points, once ...

Nonlinear analysis of pupillary dynamics
Biomedical Engineering / Biomedizinische Technik, 2016AbstractPupil size reflects autonomic response to different environmental and behavioral stimuli, and its dynamics have been linked to other autonomic correlates such as cardiac and respiratory rhythms. The aim of this study is to assess the nonlinear characteristics of pupil size of 25 normal subjects who participated in a psychophysiological ...

Nonlinear Dynamics of Microtubules
2012Microtubule (MT) is a major cytoskeletal protein. Beside its mechanical role in cells it serves as a “road network” for motor proteins (kinesin and dynein) dragging di˙erent “cargos” such as vesicles and mitochondria to di˙erent sub-cellular locations. In this article we explain three models describing its nonlinear dynamics and we call them u, z and Á-
