Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...

Influence of flexoelectric, small-scale, surface and residual stress on the nonlinear vibration of sigmoid, exponential and power-law FG Timoshenko nano-beams

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2019
This research deals with the nonlinear vibration of the functionally graded nano-beams based on the nonlocal elasticity theory considering surface and flexoelectric effects.

Euler–Bernoulli type beam theory for elastic bodies with nonlinear response in the small strain range

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics, 2016
The response of many new metallic alloys as well as ordinary materials such as concrete is elastic and nonlinear even in the small strain range.

Estimation of natural frequencies of pure bending vibrations of composite nonlinearly elastic beams and circular plates [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2017
In the paper, it is represented a linearization method for the stress-strain curves of nonlinearly deformable beams and circular plates in order to generalize the pure bending vibration equations.

Thermal fluctuations and anomalous elasticity of homogeneous nematic elastomers

open access: yes, 2002
We present a unified formulation of a rotationally invariant nonlinear elasticity for a variety of spontaneously anisotropic phases, and use it to study thermal fluctuations in nematic elastomers and spontaneously anisotropic gels.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Computational challenges in the simulation of nonlinear electroelasticity

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2017
Nonlinear electroelasticity is not a new problem, its theory involving nonlinear deformation and nonlinear material behavior has been well established.

Photoconduction and photocontrolled collective effects in the Peierls conductor TaS$_3$

open access: yes, 2004
Light illumination of thin crystals of CDW conductor TaS$_3$ is found to result in dramatic changes of both linear ($G$) and nonlinear conduction. The increase of $G$ is accompanied by suppression of the collective conduction, growth of the threshold ...

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.
