Vibration testing and dynamic studies of relays [PDF]
Study has been undertaken to determine the separation criteria for a preloaded, idealized set of contacts when they are subjected to a steady-state sinusoidal excitation and when the elasticity of one contact is nonlinear.

Nonlinear Elasticity of Single Collapsed Polyelectrolytes
Nonlinear elastic responses of short and stiff polyelectrolytes are investigated by dynamic simulations on a single molecule level. When a polyelectrolyte condensate undergoes a mechanical unfolding, two types of force-extension curves, i.e., a force ...

Selection Strategies for Flexible Pressure Sensor Electrode Materials Toward Ultrafast Response
This study reveals, for the first time, how the electrode–organic interface governs the temporal performance of flexible pressure sensors. By pairing high‐conductivity CVD PEDOT with commonly used metal electrodes, the authors demonstrate that interfacial energy alignment dictates microsecond‐scale response, providing a straightforward design strategy ...

Nonlinear Mechanical Response of DNA due to Anisotropic Bending Elasticity
The response of a short DNA segment to bending is studied, taking into account the anisotropy in the bending rigidities caused by the double-helical structure. It is shown that the anisotropy introduces an effective nonlinear twist-bend coupling that can

Nonlinear elasticity in rocks: A comprehensive three-dimensional description
We study theoretically and experimentally the mechanisms of nonlinear and nonequilibrium dynamics in geomaterials through dynamic acoustoelasticity testing. In the proposed theoretical formulation, the classical theory of nonlinear elasticity is extended

Nonlinear elasticity of semiflexible filament networks. [PDF]
We develop a continuum theory for equilibrium elasticity of a network of crosslinked semiflexible filaments, spanning the full range between flexible entropy-driven chains to stiff athermal rods.

On nonlinear thermo-electro-elasticity [PDF]
Electro-active polymers (EAPs) for large actuations are nowadays well-known and promising candidates for producing sensors, actuators and generators. In general, polymeric materials are sensitive to differential temperature histories. During experimental characterizations of EAPs under electro-mechanically coupled loads, it is difficult to maintain ...

Robust and Reversible Thermofluorescence in Solvent‐Free Thermoplastic Polyurethane Composites
Thermofluorescent polymer composites with high‐contrast optical outputs are prepared by solvent‐free blending of indenoquinacridone dye into a thermoplastic polyurethane matrix. The temperature‐dependent fluorescence originates from aggregation–dissociation of the dye molecules, regulated by competing hydrogen bonds from the polymer matrix.
