Does ESG Investing Pay off? Comparing the Performance of ESG and Traditional ETFs Across European and US Markets

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Investors have long recognized the importance of firms in promoting sustainability, leading to the rise of socially responsible investment (SRI). Specifically, there is a growing preference for exchange‐traded funds (ETFs) that prioritize environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

Exact Solutions of a Class of Nonlinear Elliptic Systems of a Special Type

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2015
In paper the problem of construction of exact solutions for nonlinear system of two equations of elliptic type is studied. Nonlinear systems of the equations of elliptic type are applied as mathematical models in the theory warm and a mass transfer of ...

Ghost effect from Boltzmann theory

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract Taking place naturally in a gas subject to a given wall temperature distribution, the “ghost effect” exhibits a rare kinetic effect beyond the prediction of classical fluid theory and Fourier law in such a classical problem in physics. As the Knudsen number ε$\varepsilon$ goes to zero, the finite variation of temperature in the bulk is ...

Failure characteristics and the energy criterion of rock with a through‐going joint under true‐triaxial unloading conditions: Insights from the DEM model

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The rock failure mode is significantly influenced by the contributing factors, such as the joint inclination, the initial confining pressure, and the unloading point. We found six typical rock failure modes after a large number of numerical tests. Abstract Excavation unloading damages rock masses, with preferential failure along geological defects in ...

Multiplicity results for nonlinear elliptic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2006
Let $Omega$ be a bounded domain in $mathbb{R}^{N}$, $Ngeq 3$, and $p=frac{2N}{N-2}$ the limiting Sobolev exponent. We show that for $fin H^1_0(Omega)^ast$, satisfying suitable conditions, the nonlinear elliptic problem $$displaylines{ -Delta u =|u |^{ p ...

Generalized Matsuoka–Nakai criterion considering hydrostatic pressure dependence in the brittle–ductile region

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Three sets of strength data were selected, including hydrostatic pressure independent within the brittle region (HPI‐B), hydrostatic pressure dependent within the brittle region (HPD‐B), and hydrostatic pressure dependent within the brittle–ductile region (HPD‐BD). For HPI type, the failure envelope within the deviatoric plane remains constant.
