Review of Catenary Icing on High‐Speed Railways: Characteristics, Impact and Countermeasures
ABSTRACT The pantograph–catenary system (PCS) is the only path for electrified railway trains to acquire energy. Catenary icing during winter is a common natural phenomenon, which usually leads to the deterioration of the current quality and severely affects the operational safety of trains.

Differential operators over particular elliptic curves spaces with cryptographic applications
Finding optimal implementations to solve differential equations in the case of boundary conditions is an open problem. In the particular case of using nonsupersingular elliptic curves there are applications in the asymmetric encryption field ...

Confidence intervals for extinction risk: Validating population viability analysis with limited data
Abstract The assessment of extinction risk remains a key component of IUCN and CITES evaluations. However, it has been argued that, under realistic data limitations, confidence intervals (CIs) for extinction probability often span the entire 0–1 range, rendering such assessments meaningless.

Random Carbon Tax Policy and Investment Into Emission Abatement Technologies
ABSTRACT We analyze the problem of a profit‐maximizing electricity producer, subject to carbon taxes, who decides on investments into CO2$\rm CO_2$ abatement technologies. We assume that the carbon tax policy is random and that the investment in the abatement technology is divisible, irreversible, and subject to transaction costs.

Entropy solutions for nonlinear elliptic anisotropic problem with Robin boundary condition
We study a Robin boundary value problem of nonlinear elliptic anisotropic type. We prove the existence and uniqueness of entropy solutions for $L^{1}$-data, via the existence and uniqueness of weak solution.

Summary Reflectance spectroscopy is a rapid method for estimating traits and discriminating species. Spectral libraries from herbarium specimens represent an untapped resource for generating broad phenomic datasets across space, time, and taxa. We conducted a proof‐of‐concept study using trait data and spectra from herbarium specimens up to 179 yr old,

We consider the Dirichlet problem for a class of degenerate nonlinear elliptic fourth-order equations with strengtheningly monotone principal parts, absorbing lower-order terms and L1-right-hand sides.

ABSTRACT Allelopathic rice is increasingly recognised as a promising strategy for sustainable weed management. Resistance to the herbicide quinclorac is widespread in barnyardgrass, but it remains unclear whether allelopathic rice exerts the same defence against herbicide‐susceptible and ‐resistant barnyardgrass. We conducted integrated transcriptomic,
