Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

On Uniqueness Of Solution For A Nonlinear Schrödinger-airy Equation

open access: yes, 2015
We prove that a sufficiently smooth solution to the initial value problem associated to the equation∂tu+iα∂x2u+β∂x3u+iγ |u|2u+δ|u|2∂xu+εu2∂xū=0,x,t∈R,is uniquely determined by its values in the semi-line at two different instants of time. © 2005 Elsevier

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

Lattice solitons in a nonlocal nonlinear medium with self-focusing and self-defocusing quintic nonlinearity

open access: yes, 2022
The fundamental lattice solitons are explored in a nonlocal nonlinear medium with self-focusing and self-defocusing quintic nonlinearity. The band-gap boundaries, soliton profiles, and stability domains of fundamental solitons are investigated ...

Backbone‐Controlled Ion‐Side Chain Accessibility in Conjugated Polymers for Organic Electrochemical Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Backbone modulation in glycolated conjugated polymers governs ion accessibility to side chains, strengthes anion adsorption, and suppresses back‐diffusion. As the number of thiophene units increases, structural reorganization, retention, and synaptic plasticity are enhanced, leading to improved neuromorphic performance in electrolyte‐gated organic ...

Soliton eigenvalue evolution in plasma-influenced nonlinear gas-fiber optics

open access: yes, 2015
We study the influence of ionization on soliton evolution and the self-frequency blueshift in a gas-filled photonic crystal fiber by numerically solving the direct scattering problem of a suitably perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger ...

Nonlinear Self-Adjointness and Conservation Laws for the Hyperbolic Geometric Flow Equation

open access: yes, 2015
Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)We study the nonlinear self-adjointness of a class of quasilinear 2D second order evolution equations by applying the method of Ibragimov. Which enables one to establish the conservation

Invisible Polymer Walls Enhance Reorientational Optical Nonlinearity in Oligothiophene‐Doped Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polymer wall stabilized dye‐doped liquid crystals (PWLCs) enhance the sensitivity of photoinduced molecular reorientation in dye‐doped LC systems. The PWLC with an invisible polymer wall successfully reduces the threshold intensity and functions as an optical limiter under the incidence of low intensity light laser source.
