Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Observations on the tanh-coth expansion method for finding solutions to nonlinear evolution equations

open access: yes, 2010
The 'tanh-coth expansion method' for finding solitary travelling-wave solutions to nonlinear evolution equations has been used extensively in the literature. It is a natural extension to the basic tanh-function expansion method which was developed in the

Exact solutions of modified Zakharov–Kuznetsov equation by the homogeneous balance method

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2014
In this article, the homogeneous balance method is used to construct exact traveling wave solutions for the modified Zakharov–Kuznetsov equation using the Riccati equation.

New dynamical soliton propagation of fractional type couple modified equal-width and Boussinesq equations

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
The space–time fractional coupled modified equal-width equation and the coupled Boussinesq equation are a category of fractional partial differential equations, which might be crucial mathematical feathers in nonlinear optics, solid-state physics ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Asymptotic stability for a nonlinear evolution equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
summary:We establish the asymptotic stability of solutions of the mixed problem for the nonlinear evolution equation $(|u_t|^{r-2}u_t)_t-\Delta u_{tt}-\Delta u-\delta\Delta u_t=f(u)$

Spatiotemporal superposed rogue-wave-like breathers in a (3+1)-dimensional variable-coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger equation

open access: yes, 2016
A one-to-one relation between a variable-coefficient (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with linear and parabolic potentials and the standard nonlinear Schrödinger equation is presented, and then superposed rogue-wave-like breather solution

Modeling Asymmetric Interactions in Economy

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
We consider a general nonlinear kinetic type equation that can describe the time evolution of a variable related to an economical state of an individual agent of the system. We assume asymmetric interactions between the agents.

Use of a Molecular Signature Response Classifier to Inform Treatment Selection Improves Clinical Disease Activity Among Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Initiating a Biologic or Targeted Synthetic Disease‐Modifying Antirheumatic Drug

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We assessed the effectiveness of PrismRA to improve clinical outcomes among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) initiating treatment with a biologic or targeted synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug (b/tsDMARD). Methods PrismRA incorporated 19 gene expression features and four clinical features to assess a patient's likelihood of
