NONLINEAR REGULARIZING EFFECT FOR HYPERBOLIC PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesXVIth International Congress on Mathematical Physics, 2010
The Tartar-DiPerna compensated compactness method, used initially to construct global weak solutions of hyperbolic systems of conservation laws for large data, can be adapted in order to provide some regularity estimates on these solutions. This note treats two examples: (a) the case of scalar conservation laws with convex flux, and (b) the Euler ...

Transcendental Equations for Nonlinear Optimization in Hyperbolic Space

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
We present a novel application of transcendental equations for nonlinear distance optimization in hyperbolic space. Through asymptotic approximations using Fourier and Taylor series expansions, we obtain approximations for the transcendental equations ...

Dispersive estimates and NLS on product manifolds

open access: yes, 2010
We prove a general dispersive estimate for a Schroedinger type equation on a product manifold, under the assumption that the equation restricted to each factor satisfies suitable dispersive estimates.

On the hyperbolic nonlinear Schrödinger equations

open access: yesAdvances in Continuous and Discrete Models
AbstractHere, we consider here Hyperbolic Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations (HNLS) that occur as asymptotic models in the modulational regime when the Hessian of the dispersion relation is not positive (or negative) definite. We review classical examples, well-known results, and main open questions.

Exact Solutions of the Space-Time Fractional Bidirectional Wave Equations Using the (G′/G)-Expansion Method

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
Based on Jumarie’s modified Riemann-Liouville derivative, the fractional complex transformation is used to transform fractional differential equations to ordinary differential equations.

Some Remarks on Nonlinear Hyperbolic Equations

open access: yes, 2012
Here a mixed problem for a nonlinear hyperbolic equation with Neumann boundary value condition is investigated, and a priori estimations for the possible solutions of the considered problem are obtained. These results demonstrate that any solution of this problem possess certain smoothness properties.

An iterative method for systems of nonlinear hyperbolic equations [PDF]

open access: yes
An iterative algorithm for the efficient solution of systems of nonlinear hyperbolic equations is presented. Parallelism is evident at several levels.

NONLINEAR HYPERBOLIC PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS AND DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 1983
AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to show that using dynamic programming techniques certain variational problems are equivalent to nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations.

Necessary conditions for control of objects with distributed constants

open access: yesSistemnì Doslìdženâ ta Informacìjnì Tehnologìï, 2019
Problems of optimal control over objects with distributed constants described by nonlinear differential equations with partial derivatives of elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic types have been considered.
