Scattering for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with concentrated nonlinearity
We consider the cubic defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation in one dimension with the nonlinearity concentrated at a single point. We prove global well-posedness in the scaling-critical space $L^2(\mathbb{R})$ and scattering for all such solutions.

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Comparison of theories for acoustic wave propagation in gassy marine sediments
More than three decades ago, Anderson and Hampton [1, 2] (A&H) presented theories for wave propagation in gassy water, saturated sediments and gassy sediments in their two part review, which has been cited by many researchers in the geoacoustics and ...

Nonlinear transport and fluctuation characteristics of doped semiconductors
Fluctuation phenomena in doped n-type GaAs, at moderate applied electric fields being influenced by interelectron scattering, are interpreted in terms of effective electron temperature.

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Nonlinear X-ray compton scattering
We use XFEL pulses to observe the most fundamental nonlinear X-ray-matter interaction: nonlinear Compton scattering. In contrast to theoretical predictions, we measure an anonymous and yet to be explained red-shift in the observed photon energy.

Record Performance in Vertically Stacked, Solution‐Processed ZTO Schottky Diodes
Schottky diodes based on solution processed sustainable zinc—tin–oxide thin films present an eco‐friendly and versatile alternative to conventional CMOS based technologies. Beyond state‐of‐the‐art performance for vertically stacked solution‐based oxide diodes was achieved, including rectification ratios exceeding nine orders of magnitude, and intrinsic
