Scattering and rigidity for nonlinear elastic waves

open access: yesCalculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations
For the Cauchy problem of nonlinear elastic wave equations of three dimensional isotropic, homogeneous and hyperelastic materials satisfying the null condition, global existence of classical solutions with small initial data was proved in R. Agemi (Invent. Math. 142 (2000) 225--250) and T. C. Sideris (Ann. Math. 151(2000) 849--874), independently.

Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Nonlinear Scattering and Its Transfer Matrix Formulation in One Dimension

open access: yes, 2018
We present a systematic formulation of scattering theory for nonlinear interactions in one dimension and develop a nonlinear generalization of the transfer matrix that has a composition property similar to its linear analog's.
